Dr. Kuo-Chan (KC) Weng

KC joined the lab in 2017 and is currently developing the 3D cardiac tissue as a platform for drug testing and disease modeling. KC earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University in 2014, where he studied the gene regulation of cardiac differentiation. He is now working on differentiating the specific subtypes of cardiac tissue from human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC). He will also develop the microfabricated devices to access the function of engineered cardiac tissue from multiple approaches including cellular biology, optical imaging and electrophysiology.
